Rising Star Riders is located in the beautiful mountains of Tehachapi, California.

Rising Star Riders, RSR, is an organization dedicated to serving the needs of children and adults with disabilities and special needs. The horses and instructors assist in the improvements in physical and emotional challenges. We also offer a program for those in charter schools regardless of need.

We offer horseback riding, therapeutic horseback riding, horse management lessons, and mental health service. Our newest addition is Coca-Cola the Equisizer which allows us to give inside lessons during inclement weather or when needed for specific therapies. Our instructors are Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors through PATH International and we work directly with licensed mental health professionals. Our students are appropriate for the program once they are 4 years old. All participants are evaluated to ensure the students are appropriate for the activities we offer. We offer weekly and bi-weekly lessons and a camp each summer as well as programs tailored to specific groups (i.e. Veterans, trauma survivors, foster youth, etc.).  Our organization relies on the assistance from dedicated volunteers in our community.  Sponsorship and  fundraiser’s support our organization financially.

Our horses provide positive results. We can all benefit from equine assisted therapy. Have you or a loved one tried other therapies and nothing seems  to work? Why not give RSR a try?

We can provide services for the following: Muscular Dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy, Visual Impairment, Down Syndrome, Intellectual Disabilities, Angelman Syndrome, Pitt Hopkins Syndrome, Autism, Multiple Sclerosis, Spina bifida, Emotional Disabilities, Brain Injuries, Spinal Cord Injuries, Amputations, Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit Disorder, Deafness, Cardiovascular, Accident/Stroke, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma History, or Mental health diagnoses. As well as other disabilities not listed. We are currently looking for grants to fund a wheelchair ramp.
